Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing or using Arci ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you don't agree, don't use the App.

These Terms are an agreement between you and Prayukta ("we", "us", "our"), which makes Arci.

2. What Arci Is

Arci is a launcher for macOS: it opens apps, finds your files, answers calculations and conversions, keeps clipboard history, history and notes, runs timers, and runs actions — searches, AI prompts, shell commands, text templates, Apple Shortcuts, translation and more — that you define in a file on your Mac.

3. Arci and Arci Pro

Arci is free to download and use. Some features have a monthly allowance in free Arci — building actions from words — or a limit — how far back clipboard history goes, and how many notes it keeps — as shown on the pricing page.

Coffees. You can thank us for Arci with a coffee on Buy Me a Coffee, once or every month. A coffee is a gift: it doesn't buy Arci Pro or anything else in Arci, and Arci works the same with or without one. Buy Me a Coffee takes the payment under its own terms, and a monthly coffee is cancelled there. Write to us if something's wrong and we'll help.

Arci Pro is an optional subscription, coming soon, that will lift those limits and add AI Search on Arci. Nothing in Arci asks you to pay until it's on sale, and the rest of this section applies only from then. It will be sold by Dodo Payments as the merchant of record: you buy it from Dodo, which handles payment, tax, invoices and refunds under its own terms.

• Renewal. Pro renews automatically at the end of each month or year, at the price of your plan, until you cancel.
• Cancelling. Cancel any time through Dodo Payments. Pro stays on until the end of the period you've paid for, and isn't renewed after it.
• Launch offer. Where it's offered, the launch price applies to the first year of a yearly plan; it then renews at the regular yearly price.
• Price changes. If a plan's price changes, the new price applies from your next renewal after we've told you, and you can cancel before then.
• Refunds are handled by Dodo Payments under its refund policy. Write to us if something's wrong and we'll help.
• Three Macs. One Pro license works on up to three Macs at a time.
• Fair use. "Unlimited" building is for your own use. We may limit use that looks automated, bulk or resold, to keep the service working for everyone; AI Search on Arci has the monthly allowance shown on the pricing page.

4. Services You Connect

Some features use online services, ours and others':

• Prayukta's own service at arci.prayukta.com, for Arci Builder, Pro licenses and AI Search on Arci. It uses Anthropic's Claude to build actions, and the providers named in the Privacy Policy to answer searches.
• AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, OpenRouter) when you add your own API key. Your use of them is between you and the provider, under their terms; they bill you directly.
• Google Translate, which Arci's Translate actions use by default. Google may limit or stop this service at any time; Arci then translates on your Mac where it can.
• Currency rates from the European Central Bank, through frankfurter.dev, which may be delayed or unavailable.

We don't control the services others run and aren't responsible for their availability, accuracy or cost.

5. Your Actions

You decide what Arci's actions do. Shell commands, Shortcuts and other actions you add — including ones written by an AI or shared by someone else — run on your Mac with your permissions. Read an action before you add it; you're responsible for what your actions do. Kill Process can force-quit apps, losing unsaved work, and folder tidying moves files (and can undo the move); use them with care.

6. Answers Can Be Wrong

AI answers, translations, conversions and exchange rates can be wrong or out of date. Check anything that matters before relying on it.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App lawfully, and not to reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, or to redistribute modified copies of it.

8. Your Data

Your use of Arci is also covered by the Privacy Policy. In short: Arci keeps your data on your Mac, has no account, analytics or tracking, and sends text only to the services you use, when you use them.

9. Intellectual Property

Arci, including its code, design, name and logos, belongs to Prayukta. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the App. Your actions, notes and other content you create are yours.

10. Updates

We may release new versions of Arci that add, change or remove features. New versions are published at arci.prayukta.com/changelog.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. YOU USE THE APP AT YOUR OWN RISK.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PRAYUKTA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. Using the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Ending

You can stop using Arci at any time by deleting it. If you break these Terms, your licence to use the App ends.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of India.
