Arci 1.5
Keep Mac Awake now lasts through a restart of Arci, and menu-bar apps are in the grid.
- Keep Mac Awake survives quitting. Quit Arci, or let it update itself, and Keep Mac Awake comes back as it was: Indefinitely stays on, and a 1, 2 or 4 hour span keeps its original end time. A span that ran out while Arci was closed is over.
- Menu-bar apps in the grid. Apps that live in the menu bar, like PopClip, Stats and Tailscale, show in the grid and as you type, and so do Apple's Screenshot, Time Machine, System Information and Mission Control.
- A thank-you link. Arci's menu bar menu and the foot of Settings now link to Buy Me a Coffee, for when Arci saves you time. It doesn't unlock anything, and Arci works the same either way.
Arci 1.4
Select text anywhere, and Arci offers what fits it, right there.
- Chips over selected text. Select text with the mouse in any app — drag across it, or double- or triple-click — and a small strip appears over it: Copy, Append (onto what's on the clipboard) and Search, with Cut and Paste where the text can be edited. Then, in the accent colour, what fits this text: a YouTube link's Summarize and Transcribe, a link's Summarize the page, a word's Define, an address, an email, a time, another language. The grid at the end opens the bar with the selection as its chip. The strip never takes your typing, and goes away when you type, scroll or move on. Settings → General → When you select text turns it off, keeps it out of browsers and Electron apps, or out of the apps you list.
- ⌘E brings the selection in. Open Arci and press ⌘E on the empty bar: what's selected in the app you were in becomes the chip. Record a shortcut in Settings → General to do it from anywhere, in one press.
- Summarize the page. For any link — selected, pasted or brought in. When the page is open in Safari, Arci reads it from there, signed in and past a paywall; otherwise it fetches the page. Ask follow-ups about it in the bar.
- Define. A word gets its entry from the Mac's own Dictionary — offline, and instant.
- Fix Grammar, in place. Text you select in a field you can edit gets Fix Grammar as a chip, and ↩ puts the corrected text where your selection was. Any rewrite of a selection — a change of case, anything you ask AI — goes back the same way; ⌘C still copies.
- Safari selections, read directly. Actions that use the selected text now read a Safari page's selection without a trip through the clipboard.
Arci 1.3
Arci comes in three themes now, and you pick one by how it looks.
- Themes. Settings → General → Theme shows each one as a small picture of the panel; click one to switch. Ink is Prayukta's own colours, sharp and mono, and stays the default. Paper is the same on warm paper. Dusk is new: plum glass your desktop shows through, soft rounded corners, a peach accent and the Mac's own type.
- New names. Dark is now Ink and Light is now Paper. Whichever you had, you still have.
- Code stays monospaced in answers, whatever the theme.
Arci 1.2
Your searches sit together now, with the App Store among them, and the bar stays where it is.
- Search App Store. A new search that opens the App Store's own results for what you typed. ⌥↩ still opens web searches in the panel; App Store links go to the App Store.
- Searches together. Google, the App Store and any search you add sit under Search in the panel and in Settings → Actions, the rest under Actions.
- The bar stays put. A long list scrolls inside the panel instead of making it grow.
- A raised bar. A soft shade sits above the bar, and its top line turns gold while it has your typing.
- Settings is taller, and shows Arci's version with links to the docs, this changelog, support and privacy.
- Share my builds. A switch under the Build field (Settings → Actions) shares what you build with Prayukta to help improve Arci. It's off unless you turn it on; the privacy policy says what's kept.
Arci 1.1
Arci finds your files now, and opens web pages right in the panel.
- Search Files. Type
~and the start of a file's name to find it in your home folder and iCloud Drive, using Spotlight's index on your Mac. ↩ opens it, ⌘↩ shows it in Finder, and with nothing typed you see what you opened lately. Press ⇥ there to let Arci search Desktop, Documents and Downloads too. - Web pages in the panel. ⌥↩ on a web search opens the page where your apps are. ↩ takes it to your browser, esc comes back.
- esc goes back from an opened note or answer, even after you click into its text.
- Copy Screen Text (⇧⌘8) opens System Settings straight away when it needs Screen Recording, and tells you when Arci has to reopen.
Arci 1.0
The first release. One shortcut, one bar, and the little things you do all day get quicker.
- Launch anything. Apps open as you type, and Arci learns which ones you mean.
- Answers as you type. Sums, unit and currency conversions, time zones and dates.
- Actions on anything. Search, ask AI, translate, or save a note from what you typed, selected or copied, with keywords and hotkeys of your own.
- Arci Builder. Describe an action in your own words and Arci makes it. 20 builds a month, free.
- Clipboard history, notes, timers and emoji, all from the same bar.
- AI your way. Apple Intelligence on your Mac, or your own key for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or OpenRouter.
- Keeps itself up to date. Arci checks for new versions and installs them when you say so.
Releases

The Newest Version
Arci checks for new versions itself, and installs one when you choose Install and Relaunch in Settings → General → Updates. arci.prayukta.com/download is always the newest release, too: drag it into Applications and replace the old copy. Either way, your actions, notes and history stay where they are.
